The Jerusalem Hills Therapeutic Centers (Registered Israeli Non-Profit, 580282085 ) (hereinafter: “JHTC,” “the Organization,” or “we”) operates the website childrenshome.org.il, dedicated to the activities of the Children’s Home, the Training Center, and the Kassel Clinic. We respect and value your privacy and are committed to protecting the personal information of our website users in accordance with Israeli Privacy Protection Law 5741-1981, including Amendment No. 13 (5783-2023), and the Privacy Protection Regulations (Data Security) 5777-2017.
As an organization dedicated to the care and treatment of at-risk children and youth, we apply the highest standards to the handling of personal information, and in particular any information relating to minors. JHTC collects personal information from different parts of this site including, but not limited to, newsletter subscriptions, event registrations, contact forms, and online giving. We will only use your information for the purpose for which it was originally provided, without your express permission.
We may ask you for personal information in order to send you periodic updates about our programs; process any online donations you make to JHTC; register and keep a record of your attendance at events including, but not limited to, parlor meetings; and review your eligibility for employment, volunteering, or interning.
When you make a donation through the jGive platform, your payment details are processed directly by jGive and do not pass through or get stored on our servers. For donations by bank transfer or check, we retain only your contact details for the purpose of issuing a tax receipt.
In addition to information you provide directly, we automatically collect certain data during your visit: IP address, domain name, browser type, pages viewed, time spent on the site, and traffic source. This data is collected through the tools described in Section 6.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to respond to inquiries and requests; to send periodic updates about our programs and activities to newsletter subscribers — you can opt out at any time; to confirm donation receipts and fulfill our accounting obligations; to register your attendance at events; to review applications for employment, volunteering, or interning; to analyze website usage patterns in order to improve our content, engagement efforts, and search engine optimization; and occasionally to display targeted outreach to relevant audiences. If JHTC intends to use your information for marketing purposes beyond the above, this will be communicated to you in writing and you may choose to opt out.
Information is also used for system security and legal compliance.

This website is not intended to collect personal information from or about children, and does not address minors directly. We do not collect identifying information about the children residing in or being treated by our organization through this website. Any information relating to the children in our care is held in separate, secured systems subject to child welfare legislation and strict confidentiality protocols.

If you become involved in any violation of security or any party’s rights, JHTC may also release relevant information to assist in investigating or resolving such incidents. For example, if you apply for a job, we will use your information to run a background check as detailed in the application.
9. Data Security
JHTC takes your privacy seriously and works to protect the security and integrity of the personal information it collects through this site. We implement security measures in accordance with the Israeli Privacy Protection Regulations (Data Security) 5777-2017, including SSL encryption across the entire website, access restrictions to authorized personnel only, and regular backups. Credit card donation details never pass through our servers.
You acknowledge, however, that no data transmission over the Internet can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. As a result, while JHTC strives to protect your personal information, JHTC cannot ensure the security of any information you transmit to or from this site.
10. Data Retention
Donor information is retained for seven years for accounting and tax purposes as required by law. Google Analytics data is retained for 26 months. Newsletter subscriber details are retained until unsubscription. Contact inquiries and event registrations are retained for up to three years. Upon expiration of the applicable retention period, data is deleted or anonymized.
11. Links to Other Sites
Users will find content on our site that links to third-party sites and services. We do not control the content or links that appear on these sites, and they may have their own privacy policies or no policy at all. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party sites before providing them with your personal information. JHTC does not take responsibility for any activity on these sites.

Under Amendment 13 to the Israeli Privacy Protection Law, you have the right to access the personal information held about you; to correct inaccurate information; to request deletion of information that is no longer required; to object to processing based on legitimate interest; and to withdraw your consent at any time.
