Each year a number of children from the Junior Unit participate in a Therapeutic Photography Program in cooperation with the Mosrara School of Photography, Jerusalem.
Traveling to the Jerusalem facility, encountering the professional staff at the school and acquiring the skills to work with the equipment all provide the children with a unique experience. They learn to look at the world through a lens that is different from the human eye lens that serves them in their everyday life. They also learn to express their emotional world in ways they didn't know before.
The products of their work in "photographic language" are exhibited in the hallways of the Jerusalem Hills Children's Home school building, showcasing their accomplishments as well as serving to improve their self-image. Many of the students at our school are hoping and aspiring to participate in the photography program.
