An Outing to an Ecological Farm
On April 13, 2011 Mannie Olswang and his family sponsored a fun-filled day for twenty boys and girls from the Children's Home.
The day was both fun and educational, at an ecological farm in Modi'in, called "Chavah and Adam". The Olswang family covered all the costs for this special day, which was held in memory of Alon, Mannie's son, who died ten years ago.
The children were transported to the farm, where they received special hats and T-shirts with Alon's name. The staff at the farm introduced the boys and girls to the basics of the simple life: preparing bricks from straw and mud, making dough and baking pita over a special stove, and spending time with goats, sheep and the dogs-in-residence.
The ities in themselves brought great pleasure to the children, who were also later invited to partake of excellent refreshments and homemade cakes.
The hours spent outdoors in these fun-filled activities, along with the delicious food, made for a perfect day for these twenty boys and girls who could not go home for the Passover

holiday, bringing smiles to their faces and helping them feel embraced and enveloped in love.
"We were so happy to meet beautiful, well-mannered children whose behavior was outstandingly impressive. It was a joy to be in their company", said Les Olswang, at the end of this rewarding day.
The children too expressed their thanks and their spontaneous enthusiasm throughout was all the thanks the staff and the Olswang family needed.
We all look forward to a repeat encounter next year!
Thank you!
