The Goldie Kassell Center was established in 1999 in order to provide a broad range of quality mental health services to the Jerusalem public on an out-patient basis. The Center's professional staff - clinical psychologists, psychoanalysts, social workers and counselors - all have extensive knowledge and broad therapeutic experience working with diverse populations, particularly within the residential treatment framework. The Center's director is Dr. Jean Pisante.
Serving a wide population:
• Parents of children with special needs or non-normative behavioral patterns.
• Children raised under special conditions (such as foster homes or adoption).
• Children with social interaction and learning disabilities (Aspergers
Syndrome, PDD).
• Adolescents and young adults with difficulties in social and communication
skills.
• Adolescents and young adults seeking a professional diagnosis.
• Mental health professionals seeking professional guidance and new
methodologies.
Principles underlying the Goldie Kassell Center's programs
The Center's approach is psychodynamic with treatment aimed at providing psychological tools that will enable independent coping whenever challenges arise. Each reference receives individual attention, and treatment is specifically designed according to individual needs. Parental counseling is an integral part of the child's treatment. The Center's team works together with each staff member, benefiting from peer feedback and professional supervision. The Center's pricing policy enables the provision of diagnostic and therapeutic services to all levels of the population.
The Goldie Kassell Center is also devoted to developing unique programs that benefit the community. An example is the Center's Anti-Violence Program now in its ninth year, operating in three major Jerusalem junior high-schools.
